PRESS RELEASE: Cyclone Ballparks Hosts Pecos Little League Opening Day

Ceremony Welcomes Twenty-Four Teams to Kickoff the 2022 Season

On Friday, March 18th and Saturday, March 19th the Pecos Little League began their 2022 season with multiple baseball and t-ball games and featured an opening ceremony announcing each of the twenty-four teams. The festivities were held at Cyclone Ballparks and were attended by players, coaches and their families. Local children ranging in age from 4 – 16 will compete in the Pecos Little League this year.

Pecos Little League has been a part of the Reeves County community for over a century. This year, the league has enrolled over 360 local youth from the town of Pecos and the surrounding areas. Pecos Little League has seen many of their teams go on to win regional, divisional and state championships in title games and have played in the Little League World Series several times. Little League President Luis Salgado had this to say about the opening ceremony, “I was glad to see a big turnout once again.  I was grateful to be a part of this community tradition and join in the excitement to play on the best fields in West Texas. None of this would have happened without Tony Trujillo Sr. and everyone at Cyclone Ballparks.”

Each player received a numbered jersey with Pecos Little League and Cyclone Ballparks patches and team names that mirror Major League Baseball.

Cyclone Ballparks features five baseball diamonds and is ideally designed to host Pecos Little League games this season. Having previously served as vice president of the Pecos Little League, Cyclone Ballparks’ General Manager Cathy Garcia knows the excitement of the opening day, “Cyclone Ballparks was honored to host the 2022 Pecos Little League Season.  We are so proud to be able to continue to support our youth and community.  To be able to provide a beautiful space for all ages to play is truly a blessing.”
