Facility Additions Render Pecos Complex One of Nation’s Top Destinations for Diamond Sports Tournaments
(Pecos, Tx.) Jan 25, 2024– Cyclone Ballparks and The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC) are excited to announce the groundbreaking event for the facility’s Phase II expansion on February 20 at 11 am. The Town of Pecos City will be hosting the ceremony at the facility’s entrance, with remarks from Cyclone staff, Mayor Winkles, city officials, and representatives from both management firm SFC and project developer Mammoth. Attendees of this free event will receive swag gifts provided by Cyclone Ballparks and the Town of Pecos City. Local press is invited to participate in the event’s dedicated time for media and photo opportunities following opening remarks from 11:50 am-12 pm.
The Phase II expansion will add six additional playing fields to the complex, bringing the total to 11 baseball diamonds. This will allow Cyclone Ballparks to host simultaneous events, making it one of the country’s best diamond sports tournament facilities. Each new field will feature professional-style dugouts and fan seating, providing an unparalleled experience for players and spectators alike.
“We are thrilled to be breaking ground on Phase II of our expansion project,” says SFC Vice President of Venue Management, Jessica Kuhl. “This will not only bring top-notch facilities to Pecos, but it will also boost the local economy and bring in more visitors. We can’t wait to see the finished product and continue to provide the best experience for our guests.”
Moreover, two additional food and beverage buildings will be added, one near the new fields and the other in the center of the complex. This will provide support for the entire facility and make it easier for guests to grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink while attending tournaments and events at the ballpark. The center building will also feature a 1,100-square-foot event space that can be rented year-round for business meetings and events.
In addition to the new fields and buildings, Cyclone Ballparks will also be adding more parking spaces. When the project is completed, the complex will have over 700 paved parking spaces, making it easier for guests to attend events and tournaments. City Manager Charles Lino states that the project is expected to be finished by September or October, just in time for the fall season.
“The Pecos community is known for its love of baseball as the ‘Baseball Town of West Texas,’ so we are beyond proud and excited to work alongside city leadership to customize a great addition to their premium sports facility at Cyclone Ballparks,” said Mammoth Vice President for Construction Operations, Matt Hohn. “Pecos’s level of commitment to the region, the growth of their city, and dedication to its people is exactly what it means to build the places where passion and community collide.”
In the case of inclement weather, a tentative rain date is scheduled for February 21. The groundbreaking event will be a momentous occasion for the Town of Pecos City and Cyclone Ballparks, marking a significant step forward in growth and development for the facility and the community as a whole. Take advantage of this exciting event and the future of Cyclone Ballparks!
